The ULTIMATE Discover-a-Band question!!! (seriously, you’ll be here a while)?

I tried to do this question before, and I was almost done, BUT I ACCIDENTALLY CLOSED IT OUT!! NOOOOOOOOOO!!!

*sigh* Let’s try again.

For fans of Black Sabbath:
Early Man is a recent underground hard rock group featuring a vocalist who sounds like a teenage, nasally-voiced Ozzy Osbourne.
(just check out their Myspace, I have a freakin’ 10-link limit, here)

For fans of death metal (and The Ahnold):
Get ready for the most awesome concept for a band ever: Death metal featuring lyrics based on Arnold Schwarzennager movie quotes. And it has the lead singer from As I Lay Dying. WOW.
(yeah, just check out their Myspace, too)

For fans of Ritchie Blackmore and Yngwie Malmsteen.
They call him The Riffmaster. He fuses the guitar mastery of Ritchie Blackmore with the speed of Yngwie Malmsteen and ever recruited Yngwie’s own Jeff Scott Soto to do vocals for most of his albums. He does quite a number of ballads, but mostly does straight-up melodic hard rock.

For fans of power/thrash (like Iced Earth)
First up is Brainstorm, a hard-hitting band with more "thrash" to them than "power." I highly recommend "Liquid Monster," featuring the most AWESOME cover art I’ve seen in a while!!

Eidolon. How has no one heard of this band? It’s got Shawn Drover from Mercyful Fate, Glen Drover from Megadeth, and Nils K. Rue from Pagan’s Mind. They even had the balls to cover Mercyful Fate, and do it pretty much spot on (well, yeah, Shawn IS from Mercyful Fate), and Nils just about shatters glass with his vocal interpretation.

Kinetic Dissent is a long-forgotten early-90s band with only one album under their belt before splitting thereafter.

For fans of European power metal:
I have quite a few bands for this section.
Dionysus is a pretty standard power metal outfit featuring Olaf Hayer from Luca Turrilli. They don’t do much to break the mold in the power metal genre, but there are some damn catchy choruses and good guitar solos.

Lost Horizon is a high-energy power metal group with the "true-metal" mentality of Manowar with the speed of DragonForce, minus the fakeness. Sadly, the amazing lead singer and guitarist left after releasing two phenomenal albums, but you should really check them both out.

Silent Force features another wowing vocalist, DC Cooper, some catchy-as-hell choruses, pretty good guitar work… So in a way, it’s like a higher energy Dionysus.

Finally, for this section, we have Thunderstone, named after the Pokemon evolution tool (seriously). And… They’re Finnish. Umm… WHAT ELSE DO YOU NEED TO KNOW?!

For fans of Dream Theater:
Here, we have Ice Age, who are obviously very influenced by Dream Theater, but they try to do their own thing.

For fans of Yes:
Starcastle is a long-forgotten 70s prog rock band. Seriously, if you like Yes, you HAVE to check these guys out. But just their first three albums. After that, they got poppier and more commercial, and thusly crappier (see: Genesis). So, just check out Citadel, Fountains of Light, and their self-titled.

Phew! I’m beat. Hopefully you discovered a new band to like. If not, well, BLEGH.
Wow, what were the chances of me linking a Youtube video by a fellow R&Per? =D

Brainstorm, Ice Age, Dionysus were all spectacular. I thank you for generosity.

I will try to return the favor:

I fart like there’s no one around. And yes, I will be here a while. I like Scandinavian bands and Pokemon, so I will definitely check out Thunderstone. Maybe the rest at a later stage, but I haven’t that much time and my headphones are busted.
